Introducing our Team

Poland and Albania outreach team 2017
After 12 weeks of lectures, learning about missions and growing in our faith in the environment of Discipleship Training School, our team is getting ready to go. Not just to go to do school in another country, or go for a new travel experience. We’re going to go to the nations, because Jesus commanded us in Mark 16:15, to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all of creation.” We have spent 3 months here at the base in Kyiv Knowing God and now we’re going to make Him Known, the purpose of Youth With A Mission, the driving force behind everything we do. To experience the work of God’s amazing grace in our lives, and to be an outpouring of that love to others. So what a better way of reaching the nations than to go on outreach to Poland and Albania?
Tirana, Albania

Poland and Albania are cultures in contrast; Poland on one hand is strongly catholic and considered to be cold-climate, whereas Albania on the other hand is mostly Muslim and a warmer climate country. Both are equally beautiful. But what both have in common is the heart God has for the people of those nations. We see a beautiful picture in Revelation of people from every tribe, tongue, nation and culture coming before the same God. God loves the people in Poland and Albania, He loves their culture and their heritage. He loves them so much He longs to know them. To change not only their hearts but their nation, transforming every area of society. It is with this heart we go to Poland and Albania-to love people and in turn to see a nation discipled. We believe that God has put these nations on our heart for a specific purpose and we have been seeking Him for how He would use us to reach the people during this time.

Rzeszow, Poland

During our times of prayer and intercession for Poland and Albania God really spoke to us about young people and unreached people groups in both nations. As a result the main focus of our time in Poland, and also Albania will be street evangelism, reaching out to youth and students in the city of Rzeszow. Also during our time in Poland we have an opportunity to work with anti-trafficking programs, working with the vulnerable and working with victims of human trafficking. After a month in Rzeszow we will head to Tirana, the capital, where we will work in various ministries including coffee house ministry, children’s ministry and ministry to the muslim population. We will then head to Elbasan where we will work mostly with the Roma community, visiting people’s houses and providing for physical needs, building relationships out of love as a platform to then share the gospel.

However as a team we really want to seek God’s leading as to where we should go and what we should be involved in. We want to commit our plans to Him with open hands, to hear His voice and then act according to His will. Our primary aim is to be a team devoted to loving, serving and learning from the people we encounter. To not seek to impart knowledge but to have teachable and humble hearts, recognising that God does not need us to reach people, but we are privileged to be used by Him during this short time. So please pray that as team that God would give us divine appointments with the people we meet, that people’s lives would be touched and changed while we are there, but really that God would already be working in the hearts of the people before we arrive and after we leave. That the seeds sown during our ministry would produce lasting fruit- and we would over time see transformation in the nations of Poland and Albania.

Thank you again for your prayer and support. We will be using this blog to keep in touch with you during our outreach, to share what God is doing and any prayer requests. We will embark on a 12-hour coach ride for Rzeszow on Monday, so please pray for safe travel.

For now Do wizdenia! Good bye (Polish)

The Poland and Albania Outreach Team :-)
